Visa rules pending for Indians

A new draft is being discussed to deal with illegal migration from India, Iraq, and Egypt. Increased visas for Indian citizens, from 25,062 in 2022 to 67,609 in 2023, due to unrestricted e-entry visas, raise concerns about human trafficking and Armenia as a transit zone for European migration.

The new draft suggests to issue e-visas to citizens of India, Iraq, and Egypt only if they already hold a temporary or permanent residence status or a valid entry visa from countries such as the United States of America, Australia, New Zealand, the Republic of Korea, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Canada, the Russian Federation, Japan, the European Union countries, the Schengen Agreement countries, or the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council countries (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and UAE).
